Mary-Louise Montague qualified with honours from the University of Glasgow Medical School, UK. She trained in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in the East of Scotland with Specialist Registrar posts held in Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee, the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. She then undertook a Senior Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Otolaryngology at the Sick Children’s Hospital, Yorkhill, Glasgow.

She was appointed to the Consultant Staff of the Edinburgh University Department of Otolaryngology in January 2007 and practises as a Paediatric Otolaryngologist at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, where she is the lead clinician for the Paediatric ENT Service. Her practice encompasses all types of ear, nose and throat problems in children and young people with consideration given to medical and surgical treatment options. She is the only dedicated Paediatric ENT specialist currently working in the private sector in the East of Scotland.

She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and Personal Tutor at the University of Edinburgh and contributes extensively to the teaching and training of undergraduates, postgraduates, nurses and allied health professionals. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed research papers, and authored chapters in two distinguished ENT textbooks ( Featured publications on Research Gate ). She acts as a peer reviewer for two ENT journals.

She is currently serving as a council member of the British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngology promoting excellence in the field.

Mary-Louise is married with two young sons.
